Sates Lead on Renewable Electric Generation standards

Despite the removal of the Renewable Portfolio Standard from the most recent Energy Act, many US states are not sitting idly waiting for the fed, not unlike vehicle emissions. In the fall of 2006, Minnesota released a report of the programs in place in 23 states for obtaining power from renewable sources. The report breaks down which bodies in each state are on tap to comply with the regulations. As is pointed out on Earth2Tech, combined with the recent set of permit rejections by a few states, some states are taking the opportunity for stewardship of the atmosphere and the inclusion of cleaner power sources.

Report pdf is available, An Inventory of State Renewable Energy Standards.
